Founded in 2010 as a small provider of birth announcements, kartenmacherei is now the European market leader for customizable stationery - and a brand that millions of people trust. Our portfolio, which is constantly being updated with new designs, includes over 200,000 products, from cards for all occasions and photo calendars to wall art and photo gifts. In 2023, over 50 million people will hold one of our cards in their hands. The history of kartenmacherei
How it all started ...
"We can do better than that!" – Jennifer Behn's idea of designing her own stylish birth announcements is the starting point for kartenmacherei in 2010. Christoph and Jennie have just become parents to their first son Anton and want to share the good news with their family and friends. But none of the existing providers meet their requirements in terms of design and quality. As the son of an entrepreneur, Christoph takes the initiative and founds kartenmacherei. A year later, the young company moved from the family's top floor to its first office on Lake Ammer in Bavaria.
